Job summary

Anglo-Eastern is seeking a Senior Vessel Manager to lead the technical management of 3-5 offshore/DP vessels. You will ensure safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance while aligning with owners' expectations and company standards.

You will coordinate maintenance programs, budgets, and supply chain support, liaising with owners, class, flag authorities, and onboard teams to maintain performance and schedule integrity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Chief Engineer on a DP vessel or Vessel Manager.
• Experience with offshore vessels such as DP1/DP2, AHTS, OSV, or DSV.
• Deep technical understanding of shipboard systems.
• Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS and other conventions.
• Experience with maintenance, drydock, surveys and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical operation of 3-5 vessels, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Plan and oversee maintenance, dry-dockings, and major overhauls with defined budgets and timelines.
• Monitor vessel condition, machinery reliability, fuel efficiency, and PMS compliance.
• Conduct regular inspections and follow up on corrective actions from audits.
• Prepare budgets, track expenditures, and escalate variances to Fleet Manager.
• Coordinate procurement and logistics for spares and services.
• Ensure class surveys and certificates are up to date and planned work is completed.
• Maintain schedule integrity with terminals and commercial operators.
• Support incident investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Liaise with owners, class, flag authorities, OEMs, and onboard teams.

As Senior Vessel Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient technical management of assigned vessels. This role sits at the center of day-to-day fleet performance, helping ensure that technical priorities are aligned with operational demands, owner expectations, and the standards required across a modern maritime environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical operation of 3-5 vessels, ensuring they are operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with international conventions, flag-state, class, and company requirements
• Plan and oversee maintenance and repair activities, including dry-dockings, intermediate surveys, and major overhauls, ensuring work scopes, budgets, and timelines are properly defined and executed
• Monitor vessel condition and performance, including machinery reliability, fuel efficiency, and planned maintenance (PMS) compliance, initiating corrective actions where required
• Conduct regular vessel inspections to assess technical condition, verify safety and environmental standards, and follow up on corrective actions from audits or inspections
• Prepare, justify, and manage vessel budgets, track actual expenditures, and ensure cost control within owner-approved limits, escalating significant variances to the Fleet Manager
• Coordinate procurement and logistics of spares, stores, and services through the assigned Technical Officer/Purchaser, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply chain support to vessels
• Ensure statutory and class survey compliance, maintaining awareness of due dates for certificates, surveys, and dry-dockings, and ensuring required work is planned and completed
• Coordinate closely with terminals and commercial operators to maintain schedule integrity and minimize service disruption
• Support incident response and investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve fleet safety and reliability
• Represent the company and owners' interests in vetting inspections, third-party audits, and pre-purchase or pre-takeover inspections as required
• Provide clear and regular reporting to owners and the Fleet Manager on vessel condition, performance, incidents, and ongoing projects
• Work closely with the Operations and QHSE Managers, aligning technical, operational, and safety priorities for the assigned ships
• Maintain strong relationships with masters and chief engineers, providing guidance, technical advice, and leadership to ensure onboard teams meet company expectations
• Oversee planned maintenance systems and ensure timely execution of all maintenance
• Ensure compliance with international maritime safety standards including ISM, SOLAS, and MARPOL
• Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental objectives, targets, and programs in line with the company's environmental management system
• Finalize and manage vessels' operational budgets
• Monitor fuel consumption and implement cost-saving measures
• Liaise with the crewing department for manning requirements
• Act as the primary point of contact for technical and operational queries from vessels
• Maintain accurate records of fleet performance, incidents, and maintenance
• Prepare monthly operational reports for your line manager

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chief Engineer on a DP vessel or as a Vessel Manager, with a solid background in the technical and operational management of vessels
• Recent experience handling offshore vessels such as DP1, DP2, AHTS, OSV, or DSV
• Deep technical understanding of shipboard systems is essential
• Experience with offshore-vessel technical maintenance and overhaul work, including azimuth thrusters, bow thrusters, main engine major overhauls, high-voltage motors, cranes, pumps, motors and machineries, and LSA/FFA equipment
• Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, and other international conventions governing vessel safety, environmental protection, and operational compliance
• Experience with planned maintenance, drydocking, class surveys and audits, flag state inspection, FMEA, DP trials, and DP system upgradation including FAT/CAT requirements
• Experience liaising with owners, class, flag, various agencies during port calls, OEMs for ship machineries and equipment, and onboard teams
• Holds a Class 1 COC
• Proficient in English
