Job summary

South China Morning Post seeks a Senior UX Designer to own reader-facing UX across reading, IA, and the paywall journey. You will plan and run usability tests and surveys, shaping decisions with evidence. Collaboration with design/system teams and product managers is essential to deliver end-to-end flows that drive reader engagement.

You will lead UX and interaction design, leverage the existing design system, and mentor junior designers while grounding choices in user research and funnel data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UX/product design experience in digital media or subscription products.
• Portfolio showing research-driven decisions, clear flows, and systems thinking.
• Comfortable with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Strong collaboration with product managers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the reading experience, information architecture, and navigation for related content.
• Lead paywall and subscription UX, balancing conversion with user trust.
• Plan and run usability tests, interviews, and surveys when needed.
• Create flows and wireframes end-to-end, using design-system components.
• Contribute to the design system and provide mentorship to peers.
