Job summary

AIG Insurance Hong Kong Limited is seeking a (Senior) Underwriter for Auto and Personal Property based in Hong Kong Island. You will apply underwriting guidelines to auto and homeinsurance, while coordinating with CS and internal teams on referrals and inquiries.

The role requires 6+ years in underwriting, strong English and Chinese communication, and a detail‑oriented, organized approach. You will engage brokers, drive market research, and support product and system development initiatives.

Qualifications

• University degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
• At least 6 years of underwriting experience in insurance.
• Team player with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent English and Chinese; strong communication and negotiation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Auto and Personal Property/Homeinsurance by following underwriting guidelines
• Work with CS and internal parties to approve routine policy referral cases
• Handle daily inquiries from producers and clients
• Maintain contact and foster relationships with brokers and agents
• Assist in system enhancement projects and product development projects for business growth
• Research on market trends and competitiveness
• Run reports for campaign results and ensure the applications come in effectively and efficiently
• Work with Finance Team closely on outstanding premium tracking
• Review product & risk information, gathering and compiling additional information to support underwriting analysis
• Organize and conduct trainings, sales and marketing events and handle ad hoc projects

What we are looking for

• University Degree, Major in Marketing / Business Administration preferred
• At least 6 years of experience of underwriting in insurance industry
• Team player with experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
• Organize with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong proficiency in English and Chinese required
• Proficiency in MS Office
