Job summary

DP World in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Shipping Allocation Executive to oversee origin operations, enforce booking compliance with carrier strategies, and optimize daily space allocations for the Transpacific Eastbound trade.

You will guide Asia teams, minimize space shortages, and align reporting with US/global offices, using strong Excel and logistics systems to ensure data accuracy and timely, compliant bookings across origins.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related discipline.
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, global 3PL, or carrier space allocation/pricing management.
  • Deep operational understanding of the Transpacific Eastbound (TPEB) trade lane and US/Canada markets is mandatory.
  • Solid knowledge of carrier contract logic, ocean carrier alliances, and feeder/mother vessel routing networks.
  • Highly proficient in Excel (e.g., managing complex multi-column reports, data reconciliation, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and logistics management systems.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with ability to spot data discrepancies in large daily reports.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin (and Cantonese) to communicate with US management and Asia teams.

Responsibilities

  • Allocation & Booking Supervision: steer cargo and booking compliance, enforce carrier priorities, audit booking statuses to resolve space issues.
  • Daily Reporting, Data Accuracy & Compliance Enforcement: oversee daily booking status reports, ensure data integrity, escalate cross-border issues, guide origin inquiries and routing.
  • Cross-Border Escalation: act as main escalation between Asia origin hubs and US/global offices to solve roll-overs and delays.

Job description

This team functions as a regional control tower for Transpacific Eastbound (TPEB) ocean freight management. The Senior Shipping Allocation Executive will be responsible for overseeing origin operations, enforcing booking compliance according to global carrier strategies, and optimizing daily space allocations. This role requires a data-minded logistics expert with strong operational control to guide local Asia teams, minimize space shortages, and meet customer expectations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
1. Allocation & Booking Supervision
  • Steer Cargo & Booking Compliance: Guide and monitor regional Origin Operation teams to ensure all daily ocean bookings strictly follow our team guidance, ocean carrier strategies, and specific routing instructions.
  • Carrier Priority Enforcement: Oversee booking executions against the carrier options. Ensure teams follow carrier options priorities.
  • Booking Status Audit: Monitor booking confirmations across origins, managing statuses (Released / Pending / Rejected) to identify and resolve space issues or carrier rejections proactively.
2. Daily Reporting, Data Accuracy & Compliance Enforcement
  • Daily Report Management: Oversee the daily collection and validation of the Daily Booking Status Report submitted by origin teams
  • Data Integrity: Ensure origin teams actively troubleshoot missing data points and maintain high accuracy in booking status, vessel routings, and space tracking.
  • Cross-Border Escalation: Act as the main escalation bridge between Asia origin hubs and US/global destination offices to solve roll-overs, vessel delay issues, and emergency space shortages.
  • Origin Guidance & Support: Serve as a primary contact point to handle day-to-day local origin booking inquiries, rate checking , and routing guidance.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
