Wai Hing Iron Works Ltd. in Hong Kong is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgets, and commercial affairs for construction projects. The role covers pre- and post-contract activities, take-offs, sub-contractor procurement, and claims negotiation.

The candidate should have a degree/diploma in Quantity Surveying with 3+ years of relevant experience, strong contract knowledge, and solid communication skills. Local regulations familiarity is essential.

Qualifications

• Holder of bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• 3 years or above relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
• - 3–4 years experience: Considered as Quantity Surveyor
• - 5+ years experience: Considered as Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams
• Familiarity with local construction regulations and industry best practices

Responsibilities

• Preparing and analyzing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
• Oversee pre & post-contract, including cost estimation, take-off, subcontractor procurement, payment valuations, and quotation reviews
• Tracking and controlling project costs throughout the construction process
• Preparing and submitting progress claims, payment application, variation application and lead negotiation & settlement of final accounts with Main Contractor
• Providing expert advice and support to the project team on contractual and commercial matters
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
