Job summary

Avo invites you to join as a Senior / Quality Assurance Engineer near the MTR station in Hong Kong. You will collaborate with business and development teams to align testing with requirements.

You will design test plans, write test cases, execute functional, performance, regression and production tests, log defects, and track their lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of QA experience, strong English and Chinese language skills, and familiarity with Agile and the insurance domain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Minimum 2 years’ related experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Experience with the entire software lifecycle and Agile technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Good understanding of test case management, version control & defect tracking.
• Experience in Functional Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing and Integration Testing.
• Familiar with preparing test data metrics and Defect Tracking tools.
• Working knowledge of Cloud technologies and experience with testing Mobile APP products, and scripting/automation skills will be a plus.
• Experience/Knowledge in Financial industry especially insurance will be a plus.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the business and development team to understand the testing and business requirements.
• Responsible for overall scheduling of testing activity, creating detailed test plans, test cases, defect tickets and reports.
• Conduct comprehensive functional testing, performance testing, acceptance testing, regression testing and production testing.
• Log defects identified during testing and follow up defects throughout their full lifecycle.
• Track the full lifecycle of testing requirements and produce test reports for each release.
• Update and refine QA procedures and standards, including requirement intake, test planning, test data preparation, test review and other related activities.
• Write reliable, efficient test scripts and automated test cases, execute test cases/scripts to ensure effective functional coverage and delivery of quality software applications.
• Design, monitor, and evaluate quality assurance metrics such as test progress, defect volume and severity, defect reopen rate.
• Provide actionable improvement recommendations to the product quality.
