Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with backend focus.
• Experience building production-grade backend services and RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• Strong understanding of database transactions, concurrency, and data consistency.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, SQL and schema design.
• Asynchronous programming with Python (asyncio) and concurrent request handling.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containerisation, and production troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and frameworks like FastAPI.
• Build reliable, high-performance backends supporting transactional workflows and concurrent requests.
• Design and optimize database models, queries, transactions, and data-access layers for consistency and performance.
• Develop robust application logic with proper error handling, logging, testing, and security controls.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, concurrency issues, and production incidents.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design decisions, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and production deployments.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI-enabled capabilities into backend products and workflows.
