Job summary

P K Ng & Associates (HK) Limited is hiring to lead an AI-driven energy optimization platform development that interfaces with and controls existing Building Management Systems (BMS). The role will broaden control to HVAC and lighting subsystems, and oversee IoT gateways, meters and sensors for real-time data ingestion.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in AI/IT, strong Python and ML framework experience, knowledge of SQL and cloud/git tooling, and excellent English and Cantonese communication

• Degree in Computing, Computer Science, System Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Analysis or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of AI/IT working experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• AI Energy Optimization Platform Development: lead design, software architecture, and deployment of an AI-driven energy-saving platform interfacing with existing full-scale BMS.
• Building-Wide System Integration: expand control to HVAC sub-systems, ventilation, and lighting into a unified AI loop.
• IoT & OT/IT Convergence: oversee deployment of edge gateways, meters, and sensors; standardize protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) into IT formats for real-time data ingestion and command execution.
• Closed-Loop AI/ML Control: design, train, and deploy models (e.g., MPC, time-series forecast, adaptive setpoints) for energy optimization while preserving comfort.
• Data Analytics & ESG Insights: build automated data pipelines and dashboards for COP, energy savings, and real-time carbon accounting.
• Develop and integrate LLM and generative-AI applications with prompt engineering and API integration.
• Collect, clean, analyze and visualize data for actionable insights and reports.
• Automate workflows and internal tools; maintain and improve IT systems.
• Ensure data security, privacy and compliance with Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
• Preferable: good command of written/spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Job description

Degree holder in Computing, Computer Science, System Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Analysis or related discipline.

The candidate is expected to:

AI Energy Optimization Platform Development:Lead the design, software architecture, and deployment of an overarching AI-driven energy-saving platformcapable of interfacing with and dynamically controlling existing full-scale Building Management Systems (BMS).

Building-Wide System Integration:Expand control capabilities beyond chiller plant and water pump mini-BMS to encompass broader HVAC sub-systems (AHUs, PAUs, FCUs), ventilation, and lighting networks into a unified AI control loop.

IoT & OT/IT Convergence:Oversee the deployment of edge gateways, power meters, and sensors; standardize heterogenous OT protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) into IT-friendly formats (MQTT, REST APIs)for real-time AI data ingestionand command execution.

Closed-Loop AI/ML Control:Design, train, and deploy machine learning models (e.g., model predictive control, time-series load forecasting, dynamic setpoint adjustment) to automate building-wide energy optimization while maintaining occupant thermal comfort.

Data Analytics & ESG Insights:Develop automated data pipelines and visualization dashboards to track system COP, kw/ton metrics, energy savings, and real-time ESG carbon accounting for management and regulatory reporting.

Develop and integrate Large Language Model (LLM) and generative-AI applications, including prompt engineering and API integration.

Collect, clean, analyse and visualise data to generate actionable insights and reports.

Automate workflows and internal tools; maintain and improve existing IT systems.

Ensure data security, privacy and compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

Preferred qualifications & skills:

AI / IT working experience: 5 to 10 year

Good knowledge of Python and interest in AI / ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

Good exposure to SQL, data-analysis and visualisation tools, cloud platforms or version control (Git) is a plus.

Self-motivated and a good team leader.

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Conditions: Appointments will be made on Agreement Term with PKNG in accordance with the prevailing Government’s terms and conditions for the employment.
