Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead network design and operations for trading and corporate networks. You will act as SME from design to production, guiding architecture and change proposals while collaborating with Project management, Security, and external vendors.

The role requires deep data center networking expertise, capacity planning, and governance to ensure reliability in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in network architecture, engineering, or consulting in FSI or exchange environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with large-grade data center networks and spine-leaf designs.
• Familiarity with DC interconnects, redundancy, and disaster recovery architectures.
• Knowledge of Layer 2/3 data center networking, EVPN/VXLAN, and traffic segmentation.
• Cross-connects, carrier diversity, and colocation within exchange or financial data centers.
• CCNP, CCIE or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination for project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Act as network SME for trading and Corporation network projects from design to production
• Provide architectural guidance on trading networks, market data distribution, and exchange connectivity
• Review and validate network designs, implementation plans, and change proposals
• Advise on colocation, cross-connect, redundancy, and capacity planning initiatives
• Work with Project manager, Network Operations, Trading applications, Security, and vendors
• Support risk assessments, governance, and production readiness reviews
• Ensure network solutions align with regulatory, audit, and operational standards
