Job summary

Bupa in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Product Lead to drive market research, product proposition and development aligned with business priorities. You will oversee market trends, regulatory requirements and competitive analysis to sharpen product positioning and growth across channels.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage the product approval process with senior stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives while maintaining governance standards and strong client impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or above required.
• 8 yrs+ relevant insurance business qualifications or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of health insurance products and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HK medical insurance market trends and competitor movements.
• Analyze research to improve product positioning and identify opportunities.
• Drive client research to identify gaps in Bupa's product.
• Lead product design and innovation based on research and business needs.
• Manage product approval with stakeholders including senior management.

Responsibilities

Market Research and Product Proposition

• Closely monitor updates and changes in HK medical insurance market, including but not limited to industry trend, competitor movements, market competitive analysis, market opportunities and threats, specific client segment to identify the potential business opportunity. Analyze and draw conclusions from research undertaken to improve the BUPA's product positioning in the fast -changing market situation.
• Drive target client research to constantly identify gap in BUPA's product to enhance clients' impact.
• Drive product design and innovation according to research result and business needs to help achieving company's business target, focusing on fulfilling medical protection, health services and any legacy needs of clients.
• Proactively manage the product approval process to get relevant stakeholders' buy-in of the product proposition including senior management and all distribution channel teams.
• Steer discussion with distribution channel teams to ensure product's marketability, form sales stories, seek market's feedback on the products and react with potential solutions to support business growth opportunity across all channels.

Product Development and Management

• Lead development and execution of product strategies aligned with business priorities, customer needs and market opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with stage-gate governance requirements
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement product solutions, ensuring product design feasibility and timely, effective delivery of projects and initiatives. Participate in material preparation for the product development. Be responsible and pursue for quality of the project deliverables to ensure accuracy of product materials.
• Act as product SME to contribute in various projects such as new regulation implementation, operation enhancements, business development initiatives, etc.
• Promote the products to all distribution channels with respect to product proposition, key selling points, market competitiveness, administration rules, etc.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

• Build strong partnerships with Distribution, Pricing, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Operations, IT, Marketing and Network teams.
• Influence senior stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional decision-making.
• Coach and develop junior product team members.
• Support establishment of best practices, governance standards and product development capabilities across the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above
• 8 yrs+ relevant insurance business qualifications or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of health insurance products, product governance and regulatory requirements.
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills and commercial mindset.
• Excellent presentation, influencing and people leadership skills.
• Good communication, problem solving skills and coaching skills.
• Good knowledge in Insurance principles and cost-benefit analysis
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
