Job summary

CTF Life in Hong Kong is looking for an experienced professional to lead multiple IT projects and support its Bermuda business within the eBao core system.

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of progressive experience in Life Insurance, strong technical skills across various programming languages, and proven ability in vendor management and project delivery.

About the Role

Supports CTF Life / Bermuda business BAU and development in eBao core system.

Responsibilities

• Act as a leader to lead multiple concurrent projects across various functional teams in supporting Core Life System (eBao)
• Act as a bridge with businesses and vendors in various project stages
• Active participant in all IT transformation programs and follow IT governance model, to ensure change management within the organization.
• Participate in business process/department/functional group activities within the respective area on a regular basis to understand business needs and challenges to help facilitate improvements and reuse existing IT components
• Ensure strong alignment between IT delivery and business outcomes
• Ensure delivery on time, budget, scope and quality
• System Development
• Standardizing documentation and deliverables
• General resource planning
• Estimating level of effort
• Technical documentation
• Technical maintenance
• Performance monitoring and optimization
• Program coding
• Identify and resolve delivery bottlenecks and risks proactively
• Evaluate impacts and escalat[e] issues and risk appropriately
• Promote continuous improvement culture
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality outputs by defining delivery expectations, SLAs, and contractual obligations
• Measure and monitor all well-defined service metrics and KPI

Technical Skills Required

• Operating Systems: Unix, Linux, Windows
• Application Development: Java, Visual Basic.NET, Visual C#.NET, Shell script, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Struts, SOAP, Restful Web Services, MuleSoft, JSON, jQuery
• Database Development: Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Server SQL Programming and SSIS, MySQL
• Reporting & BI: Jasper Report/iReport, Crystal Report, Fine Report, Qlik Sense
• Printing: SIP, Quadient/GMC
• Knowledge in AI, Weblogic, Sharepoint (Power automate) and Control-M is an advantage

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Life Insurance, with at least 10 years in application maintenance & delivery, with team and vendor management experience
• Having eBao experience is an absolute advantage
• Higher diploma holder or above in an IT-related discipline
• Insurance experience in products, product day 2 and operation is an advantage
• Lead system design and analysis cross various functional teams
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Experience with systems and IT operations
• Being comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong collaboration and facilitation skills
• Comfort in using Mandarin to communicate
