Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited is hiring for a Linux system administrator. The role focuses on setup, backup, installation, health checks and performance tuning of Linux systems, with advisory support on architecture design for project teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in Red Hat Linux, hands-on KVM/GFS/Cluster Suite experience, and scripting skills. Knowledge of cloud architecture and ITIL is a plus; fluency in English and Chinese is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in Redhat Linux 7/8 system administration.
• Solid knowledge of infrastructure environments and system design.
• Hands-on Red Hat KVM, GFS, Cluster Suite; middleware like Apache/Tomcat/WebSphere/MQSeries.
• Shell scripting proficiency; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work out-of-hours for urgent production issues; strong communication in Chinese and English.
• Experience in cloud/big data architecture design and ITIL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration including setup, backup, installation and health checks.
• Troubleshoot systems and optimize performance.
• Monitor capacity of systems and applications.
• Provide advisory support for project teams on system architecture design.
• Revise technical guidelines to satisfy IT audit regulations.
• Serve as a technical advisor to junior system administrators.
