Job summary

The School of Music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts seeks a Senior Lecturer (Musicianship, Leadership and Professional Practice). The appointee will connect advanced musicianship with conducting and ensemble practice, contribute to leadership and professional development, and work across departments.

A Doctoral degree is preferred, with extensive teaching and curriculum development experience. Appointment is a two-year renewable contract with gratuity and fringe benefits; salary is

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in music or related field (doctorate preferred).
• Expertise in advanced musicianship with conducting, orchestral or ensemble studies, or music theory.
• Experience in curriculum design, quality assurance and course development.
• Proven teaching and assessment across undergraduate/postgraduate programmes.
• Strong collaborative work across disciplines and departments.
• Active professional, scholarly or creative profile relevant to the post.
• Excellent English; Chinese language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead connections between advanced musicianship and conducting, rehearsal and ensemble practice.
• Contribute to leadership, collaboration, creative entrepreneurship and professional development.
• Report to Head of Academic Studies in Music and work across School departments.
