Job summary

Newtone consulting is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support an eCommerce Equity Derivatives platform, focusing on low-latency Java applications in a Front Office trading environment. You will work with business analysts, project teams and a central architecture group in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, regular progress updates with stakeholders, and collaboration with production teams while contributing to architectural decisions and best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant development experience.
• Mandatory front office experience in finance.
• Exposure to client connectivity protocols such as FIX, API, or Mail.
• Strong Java (17+) core programming including multi-threading.
• Practical knowledge of Spring (Boot, Cloud Stream).
• Kafka or similar streaming platforms are a strong advantage.
• Git and code review experience mandatory.
• MS SQL or Oracle Server experience mandatory.
• DevOps practices and Agile familiarity advantageous.

The role involves building and maintaining low-latency, high-performance Java applications within a Front Office trading environment, working closely with business analysts, project teams, and a central architecture team.

• Prior finance industry experience within Front Office systems (mandatory)
• Exposure to client connectivity protocols such as FIX, API, or Mail (strong advantage)
• Strong Java (17+) core programming experience, including multi-threaded, low-latency programming (mandatory)
• Relevant experience with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Stream) (mandatory)
• Practical knowledge of Kafka or similar stream processing platforms (strong advantage)
• Relevant experience with GIT and code review tools (mandatory)
• Relevant experience with MS SQL or Oracle Server (mandatory)
