Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a large-scale Financial Crime Technology transformation programme in a leading global financial services organisation. You will help build the next-generation AML platforms, working on greenfield systems with modern Java, microservices, Kafka, cloud and Kubernetes in a hybrid setup across regions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java development experience within enterprise-scale environments.
• Hands-on experience building Microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with Kafka or equivalent event-streaming platforms.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP or Private Cloud).
• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
• Fluent Cantonese communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies.
• Build scalable microservices and API-driven solutions.
• Develop event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Participate in solution design and architecture discussions.
• Deliver software through the full SDLC lifecycle.
• Support production systems and improve platform reliability and resilience.
• Implement automated testing and engineering best practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance and Engineering stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards across the team.
