Job summary

PFCC Group is recruiting an experienced Software Engineer (Java / Backend) for a tier-1 financial institution client in Hong Kong. You will design, build, and scale core operational processing engines and global regulatory reporting systems, bridging complex workflows with robust backend execution.

You will work on high-throughput services, Java microservices, and SQL tuning across PostgreSQL, DB2, Sybase and Oracle, while integrating with Kafka and IBM MQ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-8+ years of hands-on Java development in financial services.
• Strong SQL optimization and data processing experience.
• Experience with microservices, REST, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient Unix/Linux scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput backend services in Java.
• Develop scalable regulatory reporting modules for global mandates.
• Tune SQL queries and data access layers across enterprise DBs.
• Implement RESTful services and messaging with Kafka/IBM MQ/JMS.
• Automate batch processing and deployments with Shell/Python in Linux.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with Git, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
• Collaborate with Operations, Risk, and Compliance to translate requirements.
