Job summary

J. Candice Interior Architects in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead projects from concept to completion, develop design concepts, and produce detailed construction drawings for hospitality, lifestyle and commercial spaces.

The role requires at least 8 years of experience, high proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and strong leadership, client-facing skills, and ability to manage multiple projects, with immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

• F.5 / Diploma or University degree in Interior Design or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience for Senior Interior Designer; less experienced may be Interior Designer.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand.
• Proficiency in producing accurate Construction Drawings and documentation.
• Experience in FF&E selection, specification, and coordination with budgets and timelines.
• Ability to develop and execute thoughtful Space Planning and Interior Design solutions.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating completed interior projects and leadership in design delivery.
• Good command of written English and Chinese; good spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Effective communication, client-facing, and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Self-driven, organized, hardworking with TEAM SPIRIT; immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to completion; develop design concepts and space plans.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate FF&E selections and coordination with project budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in client presentations.

Role Description

The Senior Interior Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hong Kong. In this role, the designer leads projects from concept to completion, including developing design concepts, preparing space plans, and producing detailed construction drawings. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating FF&E selections, managing project timelines, collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, and ensuring design integrity throughout the build-out process. The Senior Interior Designer also mentors junior team members, participates in client presentations, and supports site visits and inspections to maintain quality and consistency with the design vision.

Qualifications

• F.5 / Diploma holder / University Degree in Interior Design or related discipline
• At least 8 years or above experience for Senior Interior Designer; those with less than this will be considered for an Interior Designer position
• High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Detailed Drawings (Enscape is a plus)
• Proficiency in producing accurate Construction Drawings and documentation.
• Experience in FF&E selection, specification, and coordination with project budgets and timelines.
• Ability to develop and execute thoughtful Space Planning and Interior Design solutions
• Strong creative and layout sense
• Ability to hand sketch is an advantage
• Good command of written English and Chinese
• Good spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Strong portfolio demonstrating completed interior projects and leadership in design delivery
• Effective communication, client-facing, and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects
