Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced Power Electronics engineer in Hong Kong to lead SMPS and power conversion design across concept to mass production. The role focuses on developing robust architectures, validating designs, and collaborating with global engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance, cost-effective power solutions.

You will work on topologies like LLC, Flyback, PFC, and DC-DC, contribute to NPI activities, and travel occasionally to support overseas

Qualifications

• 5+ years of solid experience in SMPS design and development.
• Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies, including LLC, Flyback, PFC, Buck, and DC-DC converters.
• Extensive understanding of power supply components, magnetics, transformers, EMI/EMC, and thermal design.
• Experience in product validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and manufacturing support.
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools and laboratory test equipment.
• Experience in NPI, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Digital Power Control, PMBus, DSP, or Server Power Supply experience is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design of switched-mode power supply (SMPS& PSU) and power conversion circuits through calculation, simulation, and analysis
• Develop and evaluate power architectures including Flyback, LLC, PFC, DC-DC, and related topologies
• Build engineering prototypes and perform design verification testing
• Generate technical reports and engineering documentation for product validation
• Create production test plans and support manufacturing implementation
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations for design and production issues
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure products meet performance, quality, reliability, and cost requirements
• Collaborate with R&D, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, product performance, and manufacturability
• Provide technical support for overseas factories, suppliers, and customers
• Occasional travel is required
