A senior HR leadership opportunity within a front-line operations-driven organisation, supporting stakeholders across Hong Kong and China. The role will play a key part in leadership succession, talent development and organisational capability building, while partnering closely with senior management to shape the people agenda.

Our client is a well-established front-line operations-driven organisation with a significant presence across Hong Kong and China. As part of its long-term succession planning and leadership development strategy, it is seeking an experienced HR leader to support the next phase of organisational growth and capability building.

Description

Reporting to senior HR and business leadership, the successful candidate will serve as a strategic HR partner to a sizeable, front-line operations-driven business across Hong Kong and China. The role will be responsible for leading the full spectrum of human resources activities, including workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, succession planning, organisational development, compensation and benefits, and leadership capability building. Working closely with senior stakeholders, the incumbent will play a key role in driving people initiatives that support business performance, organisational effectiveness and long-term growth. As part of a structured leadership succession programme, the individual will contribute to the development of future leaders, strengthen succession pipelines and support the design and implementation of talent and management development initiatives. The role will also play an important part in shaping future leadership development programmes, including management trainee, succession and cross-functional development initiatives designed to strengthen the organisation's long-term talent pipeline. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and operational excellence, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, provide sound judgement on people matters and lead HR teams through change and transformation.

Profile

  • 20+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally gained within large, front-line operations-driven and technically complex organisations.
  • Substantial experience supporting business operations in HK and China with strong knowledge of local labour law, employment regulations, employee relations and workforce management.
  • Proven track record of handling employee relations matters and sensitive workforce cases, while delivering practical and commercially sound HR solutions.
  • Experience gained within operations-driven, engineering, technical, infrastructure, manufacturing or other large workforce environments will be highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in talent management, succession planning, leadership development, organisational effectiveness and workforce planning.
  • Solid Compensation & Benefits expertise, including remuneration strategy, salary reviews, incentive schemes, workforce budgeting and people cost management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret workforce data, analyse business metrics, develop business cases and influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage senior executives and represent HR at leadership forums.
  • University degree holder with fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin; comfortable with travel requirements associated with a regional HR leadership role covering Hong Kong and China.
