Job summary

You will lead data analysis using SQL, define KPIs, and help design dashboards and self-service BI. The role emphasizes collaboration, training, and ensuring the integrity of data across the reporting platform.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the delivery of modern reporting and analytics solutions. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technical resources to transform reporting processes, improve data accessibility, and drive the adoption of self-service BI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing reporting and analytics processes across legacy platforms to identify opportunities for improvement and define future-state reporting solutions, including dashboards and self-service BI tools.
• Gather, document, and maintain business and technical requirements, including KPI definitions, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
• Perform data analysis and validation using SQL and other analytical techniques to investigate data quality issues, identify gaps, and support business requirements.
• Collaborate with data stewards and business users to understand data sources, mappings, and reporting needs.
• Provide guidance to technical teams in the development of reusable data assets, data models, and reporting solutions within the data platform.
• Support the design and delivery of dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions that replace existing legacy reporting tools.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate testing activities, including SIT and UAT, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions to support successful adoption of new reporting and analytics capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Data Analysis
• Strong experience in data analysis, including writing SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts, data mapping, semantic layers, and self-service BI frameworks.
• Experience working with reporting and analytics platforms to deliver actionable business insights.

Documentation & Requirements Management

• Proven ability to gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements.
• Strong attention to detail when defining KPIs, business rules, data definitions, and reporting specifications.

Testing & User Enablement

• Hands-on experience designing and executing end-to-end testing activities, including test case creation, SIT, UAT coordination, defect management, and issue resolution.
• Experience developing user guides, training materials, and facilitating training sessions for business users with varying levels of data literacy.

Domain Experience

• Experience within retail, POS, or customer-facing environments is preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational reporting and analytics requirements, or the ability to quickly learn new business domains.
