Job summary

Smith & Associates Far East Ltd. is seeking a Credit KYC Compliance Analyst to conduct onboarding and ongoing due diligence for customers, suppliers, and counterparties.

The role evaluates legal structures, financial standing, and compliance risks to supportcredit decisions while partnering across Credit, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations. You will perform sanctions and adverse-media screenings, analyze corporate financials, and prepare risk reports for management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years for Senior Credit Analyst; 3-5 years for Credit Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of corporate documentation, beneficial ownership, sanctions/adverse media screening, and financial statement analysis.
  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • KYC & Due Diligence: Onboarding and periodic reviews; verify entities, signatories and ownership structures.
  • Compliance Screening: Sanctions, PEP, watchlist, adverse-media checks; investigate risks.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze financials, payment histories, and industry factors to set risk ratings and limits.
  • Stakeholder & File Management: Collaborate with Sales and internal teams; maintain audit-ready risk reports.

The Credit KYC Compliance Analyst conducts due diligence and credit assessments on prospective and existing customers, suppliers, and counterparties. You will evaluate legal structures, financial standing, and compliance risks to support informed credit decisions while partnering across Credit, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • KYC & Due Diligence: Perform onboarding and periodic reviews (CDD/EDD); verify legal entities, authorized signatories, and ultimate beneficial ownership structures.
  • Compliance Screening: Run sanctions, PEP, watchlist, and adverse-media screenings; investigate matches and elevate credible risks per policy.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze corporate financials, payment histories, and industry factors to guide risk-rating decisions and credit limits.
  • Stakeholder & File Management: Partner with Sales and internal teams to gather documentation efficiently while maintaining clear, audit-ready compliance records and concise risk reports.

  • Financial Judgment: Ability to translate financial statements and market indicators into actionable credit decisions.
  • Communication & Integrity: Skill in writing clear risk assessments, managing stakeholder expectations professionally, and handling sensitive data with high integrity.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered for the Senior Credit Analyst position, while those with 3-5 years of experience will be considered for the Credit Analyst position.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate documentation, beneficial ownership, sanctions/adverse media screening, and financial statement analysis.
  • Systems: Advanced MS Excel, MS Office proficiency, and familiarity with standard accounting/business research tools.
