Job summary

Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced team lead for its core banking application. You will own end-to-end development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical Java-based banking systems, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

You will work with stakeholders across IT and business, participate in the full SDLC, and guide deployments and production support to uphold enterprise standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of hands‑on professional Java development experience, preferably in banking/financial services.
• Experience with mission‑critical enterprise apps with high availability and robust security requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work under pressure in production environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both technical teams and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, object‑oriented design, testing, and code quality.
• Experience or domain knowledge in core banking platforms or banking systems is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based banking applications emphasizing performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams to translate requirements into specifications.
• Participate in the SDLC including design, development, code reviews, unit and integration testing, and UAT.
• Plan and manage deployments, upgrades, patches, and releases with minimal downtime.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues; provide root-cause analysis and preventive solutions.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions aligned with security and enterprise standards.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures for long-term maintainability.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to functionality and reliability.
