Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and implement detailed testing and commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for all project systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and vendors to efficiently conduct all testing and commissioning activities.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track the progress of testing and commissioning tasks to ensure adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Prepare detailed reports on outcomes, including issues, risks, or deviations for timely resolution.
- Present regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct inspections, performance tests, and functional checks on critical installations such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
- Manage all relevant documentation, including test reports, commissioning certificates, and compliance records.
Technical Coordination and Issue Resolution
- Identify technical issues during testing phases and collaborate with engineering teams and contractors for resolutions.
- Ensure seamless integration of all systems and confirm operational readiness before project handover.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to the testing and commissioning team.
Safety and Continuous Improvement
- Implement and maintain strict health and safety protocols during all testing and commissioning activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing and commissioning processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve queries related to testing and commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Service Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent trade experience.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction or engineering, with a focus on commissioning, preferably with a general contractor, MEP engineering firm, or consultancy. Data center experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, and commissioning phases (L0–L6), with the ability to align deliverables to milestone requirements.
- Ability to assess risk, schedule impact, and safety considerations related to commissioning activities.
- Proven experience integrating fire/life safety systems with MEP/FP Systems.
- Flexible and analytical mindset with a proactive, hands-on, and detail-oriented approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Responsible, perseverant, able to work independently
