Job summary

CBRE Asia Pacific in Hong Kong seeks a Data Center Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning for mission-critical data center projects, from design review to integrated systems testing.

You will oversee FAT, SAT, and IST, manage commissioning plans and schedules, and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and vendors to ensure safe, reliable operation and timely delivery. 5+ years in similar roles preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of commissioning or data center project delivery experience.
• Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, BMS/EPMS, and fire protection.
• Knowledge of mission-critical facility operations and reliability concepts.

About The Role

The Data Center Commissioning Manager will be leading the commissioning process for mission-critical data center projects. This role is responsible for overseeing commissioning activities from design review through integrated systems testing, ensuring all critical infrastructure systems operate safely, reliably, and in accordance with client requirements.

What You'll Do

• Lead commissioning activities for data center projects, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and life safety systems.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and reporting.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Review design documents and identify potential operational, reliability, and maintainability risks.
• Track commissioning progress, manage issue resolution, and ensure timely project completion.
• Support operational readiness, turnover, and handover to facility operations teams.
• Lead and mentor commissioning personnel while driving safety, quality, and compliance standards.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in commissioning, critical facilities, MEP engineering, or data center project delivery.
• Experience commissioning complex infrastructure including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, BMS, EPMS, and fire protection systems.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical facility operations and reliability concepts.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
