Job summary

Bitget Limited seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to lead global commercial contracting, licensing and IP matters under the Legal Director. You will manage ongoing contractual risks and negotiate with external parties to secure favorable outcomes.

The role requires a qualified lawyer with 6–12 years PQE in Corporate/Commercial or TMT, a law degree from a major common law jurisdiction, and fluency in English and Mandarin. Hong Kong-based, on-site with competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Report to Legal Director and focus on Commercial work (Contracts, Product, IP) globally
• Handle ongoing commercial issues and contracts (sponsorships, NDAs, MOUs, licensing)
• Address contract risks and propose mitigation measures
• Represent Bitget in negotiations with commercial parties
• Manage external law firms, engagements, reviews and fees
• Provide robust, commercially sensible legal advice to internal stakeholders

What you’ll do

• Reporting to our Legal Director, you will principally focus on Commercial work (e.g. Contracts, Product, IP, etc.).
• You and the team will handle on-going commercial issues and contracts globally, such as sponsorships, advertising, procurement, MOUs, NDAs, token listings, terms and conditions, brokerage, licensing and custody agreements.
• You will be responsible for addressing commercial contracts risks within the company, and proposing measures to mitigate and reduce such risks.
• Where appropriate, you will be representing Bitget before commercial parties in negotiations.
• You will lead the efforts to manage external law firms including their engagement, review of their work and approval of fees with on-going matter-management to ensure the best results for Bitget.
• You will represent the legal team before internal stakeholders to provide robust, commercially sensible, accurate and practical advice and to manage their expectations throughout the life of the matter.

What you’ll need

• Qualified lawyer ideally with 6-12 years of PQE legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house organisation focusing on Corporate, Commercial or TMT practice areas.
• Graduated with a law degree from a major common law jurisdiction (e.g. Singapore, UK or Hong Kong).
• Ability to handle commercial contract matters from beginning-to-end.
• Start-up experience is preferred, especially demonstrable experience in handling complex legal matters in fast-paced and exacting situations.
• Experience and knowledge of crypto products, regulations and transactions are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, exercise common sense judgement and make tough decisions.
• Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills.
• Excellent command of English, and business proficient Mandarin Chinese language (including writing) skills mandatory.
• Ability to quickly adapt to using MacBook, Google Drive and internal IT platforms for work purposes.
• Right to work and based in Hong Kong.
