Job summary

Hospital Authority is seeking a Building Services Inspector / Clerk of Works to support major capital works projects in Hong Kong. The role involves leading site technical staff, supervising contractors, and ensuring conformity with drawings and contracts while maintaining thorough site records.

Applicants should possess a diploma or higher certificate in Building Studies or Building Services, with at least eight years of relevant experience and a valid safety certificate.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies or Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).
• Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (HKCEE) or Level 2+ in HKDSE.
• Formal safety and health training.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Experience in public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading site technical staff in managing day-to-day building matters.
• Provide technical assistance on management of major capital works projects.
• Monitor progress of site works and control of materials and workmanship.
• Provide technical support to project works related to building services.
• Supervise and monitor performance of contractors and other parties.
• Coordinate with safety officers and ensure site safety compliance.
• Maintain site records and submit monthly returns.
• Prepare and submit inspection and progress reports and monthly summaries.
• Carry out routine inspections for conformity with drawings, specifications and contracts.
• Administer defects and outstanding works.
• Monitor environmental, health and safety aspects of contractor works and report non-compliance.
• Attend emergency calls and typhoon duties as required.
• Perform other duties to facilitate capital works projects.
