Job summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking an Automation Development Lead to drive intelligent automation across IT operations in Hong Kong. You will own design, development, deployment and production support for workflow automation, AI/ML, chatbots, and monitoring platforms, with cloud exposure in AWS and Azure.

The role demands hands-on engineering blended with Agile delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold degree or equivalent in computing or a related field.
• Experience in ITSM and ITIL practices with delivery impact.
• Proven ability to design and implement automation in Agile environments.
• Familiar with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and security awareness.

Reports to: Automation Development Lead
Drive the development of intelligent automation solutions that help strengthen IT operations across Cathay's technology landscape. You will work on workflow automation, log ingestion, auto-healing capabilities, self-service automation, monitoring platforms, IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and chatbot technologies to solve complex operational challenges and improve service reliability.
Working closely with business users, technology teams, architects, and external vendors, you will translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, taking ownership from design through deployment and production support. The role combines hands-on engineering with Agile delivery, requiring expertise in automation technologies, cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, application programming interfaces (APIs), and modern DevOps practices.
