Job summary

Vocational Training Council is seeking a Lecturer in the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship (ODA) to lead a team and coordinate apprenticeship initiatives. The role emphasizes delivery and administration of training, development of new trades, and work-based assessment alignment with industry standards.

The successful candidate will mentor apprentices, coordinate investigations, and support employers with training processes.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification.
• At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in VPET, apprenticeship training provision or events.
• Good English and Chinese communication and presentation skills; ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Preferably knowledge of the Apprenticeship Ordinance and related schemes.
• Desirable: strong connections with industry or professional bodies.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Apprenticeship Officer and lead a team in the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship (ODA).
• Assist in delivery and administration of apprenticeship training and digitalisation of services.
• Develop new trades and review existing programmes, including work-based assessment alignment with industry standards.
• Mentor apprentices on employment and training pathways.
• Coordinate complaint investigations and dispute conciliation between employers and apprentices.
• Support employers with work-based assessments and guidance on training completion.
• Conduct facilities checks for new employers and regular employer visits.
• Liaise with other units to provide complementary training and monitor apprentice performance.
• Promote apprenticeship recruitment and organise events like Outstanding Apprentice Award.
