Job summary

Hong Kong Housing Society is seeking a Senior Accounting Officer (Accounting and Business Analysis) to review transactions, prepare financial reports, budgets, and assist in audits for managed properties. Strong English/Chinese communication and Excel skills are essential.

The role requires at least 4 years of accounting experience, familiarity with accounting software, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in accounting or related discipline.
• Student member of HKICPA or equivalent pursuing a professional accounting qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Hands-on experience in performing financial and management reporting at operation levels.
• Experience in accounting and financial management for managed properties is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in using MS Excel and office, and accounting software.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle systems is an advantage.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Accurate and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to communication, coupled with good business acumen, professional etiquette, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review accounting transactions and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and management information, and provide financial analysis to support business operations and decision-making.
• Review annual budgets prepared by operating units and provide support throughout the budgeting and planning process.
• Assist in the coordination and completion of annual audits for managed properties.
• Liaise with operating units, auditors, and other stakeholders, and handle accounting and financial-related enquiries in a timely manner.
• Perform other ad hoc assignments and duties as assigned.
