Singapore International School (Hong Kong) seeks a highly qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher to join a dynamic department starting August 2027.

You will teach across multiple curricula (IGCSE, IB DP, Singapore Maths) and collaborate to develop engaging learning materials while providing regular feedback to students and parents. The role also involves pastoral duties and contributing to school life.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Honours Degree in Mathematics or related discipline and a recognised teacher qualification (e.g. BEd, PGDE).
• Proven experience (≥3 years) in Secondary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
• Native-level fluency in spoken English.
• Strong commitment to conceptual understanding and problem solving in mathematics.
• Proficiency with technology tools to support math learning.
• Typesetting mathematical documents using MS Word, Equation Editor or LaTeX.

Responsabilités

• Teach at least two mathematics curricula across Secondary-DP levels (e.g., Singapore Lower Secondary, IGCSE, IB DP).
• Collaborate with Mathematics Department to create differentiated instructional materials.
• Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents on progress.
• Undertake pastoral care duties and lead after-school clubs or activities.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified mathematics teacher who is a creative and committed individual of high calibre to join our dynamic Mathematics Department. The person should look forward to delivering the highest quality of learning in a stimulating, happy and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Domain

• Teach at least two of the mathematics curricula: Singapore Lower Secondary Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Additional Mathematics, IBDP Mathematics across the Secondary-DP year levels
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Mathematics Department to create bespoke teaching and learning materials to enable effective and engaging differentiated instruction in the classrooms
• Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress

Pastoral Domain and School-wide Committees

• Undertake pastoral care duties, including form‑teachership responsibilities and leading/managing after‑school clubs or activities
• Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents regarding pastoral growth

The ideal applicant should

• Possess at least an undergraduate Honours Degree in Mathematics or related discipline and a recognised teacher qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent)
• Have proven experience (at least 3 years) in Secondary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics
• Native-level fluency in spoken English
• Possess strong commitment towards a high level of conceptual understanding and teaching of mathematical concepts and problem solving heuristics
• Possess strong proficiency of technology tools to complement the learning of mathematics in the classroom
• Possess competent proficiency in typesetting of mathematical publications using MS Word, Equation Editor, LaTeX, or equivalent to produce professional mathematical documents

Preferred qualifications and experience

• Teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE 0580 Mathematics and 0606 Additional Mathematics
• Teaching experience in IBDP Mathematics: analysis and approaches and IBDP Mathematics: applications and interpretation
• Active examiners in Cambridge IGCSE 0580 and/or 0606 examinations
• Active examiners of IBDP in either Mathematics EE, IA or examination papers
• Teaching experience in TOK
