Job summary

IntelliPro in Hong Kong is seeking a skilled Rust Engineer to build high-performance backend services and infrastructure components for our tech platform. You will design, implement and test core services, and collaborate with product, infra and security teams to shape engineering standards.

Requirements include solid Rust production experience, async Rust and concurrency, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD. The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule and a learning budget for conferences and courses.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on production experience writing Rust; comfortable with ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, async Rust and concurrency primitives.
• Strong understanding of computer fundamentals: memory model, TCP/IP, multi-threading, data structures & algorithms.
• Experience building backend services or system software; familiarity with at least one async runtime (tokio preferred).
• Good knowledge of CI/CD, Git, containerization (Docker) and Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, network components, SDKs or distributed systems using Rust.
• Optimize system performance, memory footprint, concurrency and throughput; troubleshoot latency and stability issues.
• Write clean, well-tested, idiomatic Rust code, including unit tests, integration tests and benchmark suites.
• Review code from peers, promote best practices, and improve internal coding guidelines.
• Integrate with databases, message queues, gRPC/REST APIs and observability stacks (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, estimate work and deliver features on schedule.
• Contribute to technical design documents, architecture decisions and risk assessment.
• Keep up with Rust ecosystem updates, evaluate crates and avoid unsafe pitfalls.
