Job summary

Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics Limited in Hong Kong Science Park is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Robotics) to design, develop and maintain embedded firmware for robotic controllers, sensors and actuators. You will implement real-time data acquisition, device drivers and interfaces with higher-level robotics software, and work with hardware engineers on board bring-up and debugging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ with embedded software development experience.
• Experience with microcontrollers and bare-metal firmware or RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS).
• Familiarity with UART, SPI, I²C and CAN interfaces.
• Ability to read schematics and use debugging tools (scope, logic analyzer, JTAG/SWD).
• Git experience and structured debugging practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork with hardware/software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware for robotic controllers, sensors and actuators.
• Develop device drivers and interfaces between embedded devices and higher-level robotics software.
• Implement real-time data acquisition, command processing and control interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up, peripheral integration and debugging.
• Improve system reliability with fault detection, diagnostics, watchdogs and recovery.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop and integration testing; maintain firmware documentation and version control.
