Job summary

Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics Limited is seeking a Software Engineer (Robotics) to design, develop and maintain robotic software, interfaces, SDKs and middleware at our Hong Kong location in the Science Park. You will work across perception, planning and control to enable reliable robot operation.

Responsibilities include building backend services, integrating sensors and actuators, and contributing to documentation, testing and CI processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/Robotics or related field.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with solid software development experience.
• Familiarity with Linux, Git, debugging tools and good software engineering practices.
• Understanding of software architecture, modular design and interfaces.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to read/write technical documentation in English.

We are Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics Limited and our research focus is the development and application of robotics and AI technologies in the logistics and service industry. Our centre is located in Hong Kong Science Park.

We are looking for a Software Engineer (Robotics)

We rely on you to:

• Design, develop and maintain robotics software, including robot interfaces, SDKs, middleware and application modules.
• Develop software for robot operation, monitoring and task execution, integrating perception, planning and control modules.
• Build backend services, APIs and web-based tools for robot configuration, operation and diagnostics.
• Integrate robotic systems with sensors, actuators and external applications.
• Investigate and resolve software, communication and system integration issues through simulation and hardware testing.
• Maintain clear documentation and contribute to code reviews, automated testing and continuous integration.

We are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with practical software development experience.
• Familiarity with Linux, Git, debugging tools and sound software engineering practices.
• Understanding of software architecture, modular design and communication interfaces.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across disciplines.
• Ability to read and write technical documentation in English.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ROS/ROS2, robot SDKs or robotic system integration.
• Experience with backend development, RESTful APIs, databases or web interfaces.
• Knowledge of multithreading, network programming or distributed systems.
• Experience with robot motion control, perception, simulation or AI model integration.
• Candidates with strong project experience, including recent graduates, are welcome to apply.
