Job description

A Hedge Fund Research Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth financial research and analysis to support investment decisions within the hedge fund.

Key responsibilities

• Researching, selecting, and monitoring investments across multiple sectors and sub sectors in equity focused on Japan
• Generating and evaluating investment ideas, building financial models, and gathering data to support investment ideas
• Conducting detailed company and market research, including financial statement analysis, valuation, industry positioning, and macroeconomic trends to identify attractive investment opportunities
• Providing investment recommendations to portfolio managers and continuously monitoring investments to update recommendations as needed
• Collaborating with portfolio manager and other investment analysts for in depth discussions and information sharing within the team for maximizing alpha generative investment ideas
• Utilizing quantitative, qualitative, and relevant skills to present new investments ideas comprehensively
• Staying current on financial news, market forecasts, and industry developments to inform investment strategies
• Sector coverage specialised in Technology sector

About you

• A strong analytical mindset
• Proficiency in financial modelling and software (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, programming languages)
• Fluent in Japanese and English and Mandarin
• A background in finance, economics, or business, with advanced credentials such as an MBA or CFA
