Job summary

Gate, a remote-first global crypto exchange, is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Officer to design and enhance our global compliance programs. You will work across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, and Business teams to ensure operations align with regulatory requirements in a fast-paced digital asset environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in crypto compliance, strong English and Mandarin, and familiarity with APAC/EMEA/AMER regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, or Regulatory Compliance within crypto, fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, licensing requirements, and regulatory frameworks across one or more jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks governing digital assets and VASPs across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas.

• Execute the company's broader regulatory compliance programs.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and assist in implementing new policies, controls, and compliance procedures.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits, examinations, and requests from regulators or internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Risk, and Engineering to ensure new products meet compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation and case records while driving process improvements.
• Contribute to a strong culture of compliance with training initiatives.

The Role:

We are looking for a Regulatory Compliance Officer (Crypto) to support the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of our global compliance programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the company operates in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, and Business teams to strengthen compliance controls, support regulatory obligations, and foster a strong culture of compliance in a fast-paced digital asset environment.

What You'll Do:

• Execute the company's broader regulatory compliance programs.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and assist in implementing new policies, controls, and compliance procedures.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits, examinations, and requests from regulators or internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Risk, and Engineering teams to ensure new products and business initiatives meet compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation and case records while driving continuous process improvements.
• Contribute to a strong culture of compliance by providing guidance and supporting internal compliance training initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

• 1+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, or Regulatory Compliance within crypto, fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required, as this role supports clients and stakeholders across English- and Mandarin-speaking markets.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, licensing requirements, and regulatory frameworks across one or more jurisdictions.
• Understanding of international regulatory frameworks governing digital assets and virtual asset service providers (VASPs), including jurisdictions in APAC, EMEA and the Americas.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Product teams.
• Knowledge in blockchain monitoring tools (e.g. Chainalysis and Coinfirm) preferable, but not a must.
