Job summary

EX.IO in Hong Kong is seeking a Compliance Officer for our fast-growing virtual asset trading platform. You will help update policies, support licensing applications, and ensure adherence to SFO, SFC VATP, and AML/CTF guidelines.

You will coordinate with internal teams to close gaps, prepare CPT materials, and monitor AML/trade surveillance programs. Strong communication, a team mindset, and a proactive problem-solving approach are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in law, accounting, finance, business or related fields.
• Knowledge of SFO, SFC VATP, SFC AML/CTF guidelines.
• 2–5 years in compliance or audit at large institutions or professional firms.
• Strong interest in blockchain industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player, self-motivated, independent, meticulous, analytical.
• Willing to adapt to fast-paced environment and deliver results.
• Experience with regulators (SFC/HKMA) or external service providers is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese; Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer in Hong Kong for our fast-growing virtual asset trading platform.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in updating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations;
• Participate in licensing applications for regulated virtual asset services;
• Coordinate with key internal functions to identity gaps and driving projects to close the gap, as well as drive change and develop best practices;
• Prepare CPT materials and maintain relevant records; Influences and negotiates with seniors across functions and management; may communicate with external consultants and lawyers;
• Perform compliance control and monitoring programs including but not limited to control room, AML monitoring, and trade surveillance;
• Handle other compliance matters / ad hoc matters assigned by Head of Compliance.

Requirements:

• University graduates in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant fields;
• Sound knowledge in SFO, SFC VATP Guidelines, SFC AML/CTF Guidelines and other relevant codes and regulations;
• 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in compliance or audit, gained from sizable institutions (including investment banks, virtual asset exchanges and/or financial regulators) or professional firms (e.g. Big4 CPA)
• Strong interest in blockchain industry;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good team-player who is self-motivated, independent, meticulous, analytical and responsible;
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure;
• Willing and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and assume responsibilities with a result-driven attitude;
• Creative thinker and proactive problem solver;
• A positive, “can do” attitude;
• Industry recognized financial crime/AML qualification preferred (e.g. ACAMS/ICA);
• Previous experience in dealing with regulators (e.g. SFC/HKMA) and/or external professional service providers (e.g. lawyers/consultants) is an advantage; and
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, and Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
