Job summary

The Sand Grains Technology Limited seeks a PhD‑level researcher to conduct in‑depth studies on baseband processing algorithms for radar signal chains, including DDC, CFAR, and DOA estimation for UAV detection.

You will participate in hardware co‑development, evaluate FPGA/DSP solutions, assess performance, and explore AI tools to improve daily workflows and drive innovation.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
  • Solid theoretical foundation in radar signal theory and proficiency in simulation-based algorithm validation.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA/DSP development and a comprehensive understanding of radar system architectures.
  • Proven track record in radar baseband development, with deployment in UAV or autonomous driving projects.
  • Strong capabilities in hardware design and debugging.
  • A proactive mindset in exploring and adopting emerging AI tools and methods, with the ability to independently apply AI to practical work scenarios.

Job description

  • Baseband Algorithm Research– Conduct in-depth studies on baseband processing algorithms for radar signal chains, covering ADC sampling, digital down-conversion (DDC), pulse compression, CFAR detection, and DOA estimation. Devise high‑sensitivity, low‑latency real‑time signal processing methodologies tailored for UAV detection.
  • Hardware Co‑Development– Participate in SoC/FPGA selection and oversee the deployment of baseband processing on embedded platforms; formulate hardware acceleration strategies that account for compute, power, and cost trade‑offs.
  • System Performance Assessment– Establish comprehensive performance evaluation frameworks for radar signal processing; investigate the influence of key parameters on detection reliability and develop approaches to mitigate band interference in multi‑radar coexistence scenarios, including waveform design considerations.
  • Advanced Technology Exploration– Carry out pioneering research on phased‑array and frequency‑diverse array (FDA) radar for UAV detection applications.
  • AI‑Driven Workflow Innovation– Explore and integrate AI tools to streamline daily workflows, actively drive the adoption of AI in business contexts, and continuously advance both individual and team productivity and output quality.
