Job summary

Nex is seeking a QA Manager to own end-to-end quality across hardware, firmware, PlayOS, and game experiences for Nex Playground. This role demands hands-on testing, bug-hunting, and shaping test strategy to raise the overall quality bar.

You’ll partner with engineering and product to identify risks and enable confident releases. You'll define risk-based plans, oversee automation efforts, manage vendors, and drive improvements across EVT to PVT stages while ensuring real-world readiness and

Qualifications

• Must-have hands-on QA experience in hardware/firmware validation or system-level testing.
• Ability to design risk-based test strategies and perform exploratory testing.
• Experience validating firmware/OTA update flows, including rollback and recovery.
• Strong problem-solving with logs, traces, and crash data for diagnostics.
• Ability to create maintainable automated tests or scripts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end QA across hardware, firmware, PlayOS, and games.
• Develop risk-based validation plans covering EVT, DVT, and VPT stages.
• Define test strategy for firmware/PlayOS updates and release gates.
• Implement automation where appropriate and integrate checks into release workflows.
• Coordinate defect triage with engineering and product teams.
• Manage external QA partners and ensure delivery to quality standards.
• Communicate quality status and release risks clearly to stakeholders.
