Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years in procurement/purchasing.
  • Finished-goods sourcing experience in small household appliances or cookware is required.
  • Strong cost analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent English (must-have).
  • Cross-cultural collaboration and influence skills, comfortable navigating complex interpersonal networks.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier scouting & market mapping across APAC and emerging zones.
  • Industry player and competitor landscape analysis including macro-market tracking.
  • Monitor supplier health, raw material fluctuations, and geopolitical indicators.
  • Identify next-generation suppliers and track product trends.
  • Produce standardized evaluation reports detailing supplier risks and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and category teams to deliver verified supplier data.

About the Role

The Purchasing Manager will enhance the global competitiveness of XXX by establishing an advanced, data-driven supplier intelligence and proactive scouting framework. Managing the comprehensive portfolio of all Finished Goods categories, the incumbent will act as the principal industry scout across Asia and emerging regions.

The core mission is to systematically map, investigate, and evaluate the global manufacturing landscape to uncover next-generation suppliers, analyze evolving product trends, and track key industry players. The incumbent is responsible for translating continuous market investigation into highly structured intelligence reports, aligning our supplier network with XXX's commitment to innovation and technical excellence.

In alignment with XXX's commitment to innovation and quality, this position requires a high level of analytical expertise to continuously map and decipher global manufacturing landscapes. Operating within a highly dynamic market, the role demands an exhaustive, forward-thinking understanding of macroeconomic supplier landscapes, emerging manufacturing hubs, and global sourcing trends.

This position functions as a centralized intelligence hub, requiring close collaboration within the Purchasing team and category teams to deliver verified supplier data and actionable industry insights.

Key Responsibilities

A. Supplier Scouting & Market Mapping

  • Proactive Sourcing Radar: Conduct continuous, deep-dive market research to discover, pre-qualify, and map high-potential finished goods suppliers across the APAC region.
  • Emerging Market Exploration: Actively explore Southeast Asia (SEA) and alternative emerging manufacturing zones to identify diversified sourcing opportunities and mitigate geographic risks.
  • Supplier Landscape Audits: Keep a detailed, live repository of active, dormant, and emerging suppliers in the industry to ensure XXX maintains immediate access to competitive options.

B. Industry Player & Competitor Landscape Analysis

  • Competitor Benchmarking: Monitor and understand the manufacturing footprints, capacities, and partnerships of key players in the industry to safeguard XXX's market edge.
  • Macro-Market Tracking: Stay highly informed on supplier health, mergers, acquisitions, and capacity shifts within the global manufacturing network.
  • Macroeconomic Monitoring: Track raw material fluctuations, supply constraints, and geopolitical indicators that impact supplier stability.
  • Product Trend Synthesis: Track and analyze global consumer and product trends to identify suppliers with advanced technical capabilities that match future portfolio needs.
  • Emerging Technologies: Evaluate suppliers on their adoption of next-generation manufacturing processes, automated production, and innovative materials.
  • Innovation Alignment: Align intelligence gathering with XXX's sustainability goals, scouting for partners with eco-friendly manufacturing credentials.
  • Rigorous Supplier Investigations: Conduct thorough business intelligence assessments of potential partners, analyzing technical capability, quality frameworks, and financial health.
  • Standardized Evaluation Reports: Author structured evaluation reports detailing supplier risks, transportation challenges, and operational capabilities.

Requirements
