Job summary

Key Recruitment Limited is seeking an AV Project Manager in Hong Kong to lead end-to-end delivery of commercial and residential AV integration projects. You will serve as the primary liaison among clients, engineers, and contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 3–8 years of AV project management experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and prefers PMP/AVIXA CTS certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–8 years managing AV integration projects in commercial, corporate, education, or hospitality environments.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Certifications (Preferred): PMP and AVIXA CTS credentials.
• Technical Knowledge: AV signals (video over IP, Dante/AES67, HDMI/HDBaseT), control systems (Crestron, AMX, Q-SYS), UC (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms), and structured cabling.
• Skills: Leadership, negotiation, time-management, and written/verbal communication; proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and PSA/ERP tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AV projects from handover through engineering, procurement, installation, programming, commissioning, and client sign-off.
• Manage budgets, track labor and material costs, review subcontractor quotes, approve invoices, and ensure healthy profit margins.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules; coordinate internal engineers, programmers, field technicians, and external contractors.
• Serve as main liaison between clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams; run progress meetings and provide status reports.
• Identify risks, delays, or scope creep; implement mitigation strategies and process Change Orders.
• Ensure AV installations comply with industry standards, company practices, and local safety/building codes; oversee testing and documentation.

Job description

The AV Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of commercial or residential Audio Visual integration projects. They act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical understanding of AV systems and proven leadership in managing complex installations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee AV projects from initial handover (sales-to-operations) through engineering, procurement, installation, programming, commissioning, and client sign-off.

Financial & Budget Control: Manage project budgets, track labor and material costs, review subcontractor quotes, approve invoices, and ensure healthy profit margins.

Scheduling & Resource Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management tools. Coordinate internal engineers, programmers, and field technicians, as well as external contractors.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main liaison between clients, general contractors, architects, and internal teams. Run regular progress meetings and provide timely status reports.

Risk & Change Management: Identify potential project roadblocks, delays, or scope creep, and implement proactive mitigation strategies. Process formal Change Orders when necessary.

Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all AV installations comply with industry standards, company best practices, and local safety and building codes. Oversee system testing and commissioning documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum 3–8 years of experience managing AV integration projects in commercial, corporate, education, or hospitality environments.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.

Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional) and AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) credentials.

Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of AV signals (video over IP, Dante/AES67, HDMI/HDBaseT), control systems (Crestron, AMX, Q-SYS), unified communications (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms), and structured cabling.

Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, time-management, and written/verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and professional PSA/ERP tools.
