Job description

Program Associate (Full Time)
Foundation for Shared Impact Limited
Foundation for Shared Impact’s Community Business Support Program

Foundation for Shared Impact (FSI) Community Business Support Program (“CBS Program”) encompasses several projects to empower and uplift community businesses and under-resourced entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. We fulfil the CBS Program’s mission through our shared impact model, which facilitates broad cross-sector collaboration and free sharing of knowledge, information, and resources.

The CBS Program raises the visibility of grassroots small businesses through Project GuideFong, which includes an online directory of diverse community businesses, pop-up bazaars, walking tours, and digital marketing campaigns that celebrate Hong Kong’s multicultural grassroots business ecosystem while promoting diversity and social inclusion.

In parallel, the Program builds capacity for budding entrepreneurs through the Mentorship Program for Ethnically Diverse Entrepreneurs (held annually since 2022), skills workshops, pro-bono legal clinics, direct business support, and other cross-sector collaborations that connect entrepreneurs to corporate volunteers, youth interns, peer entrepreneurs, and other practical resources.

Job Description for Program Associate for Community Business Support Program (Full-time position)

FSI is seeking a motivated Program Associate to join the Community Business Support team to take the program to the next level, together with the Program Manager. This role will coordinate day-to-day delivery of CBS projects, including the Mentorship Program, Project GuideFong initiatives, manage event logistics, steward partnerships and volunteers, and curate and coordinate community-facing communications.

The role is very hands-on, requiring strong organisational and interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to community-centred programming that empowers and promotes local under-resourced entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. This role demands skills and experience in program management as well as stakeholder communication and collaboration to ensure a fruitful and beneficial experience for all involved - including youths in Hong Kong whom the Program Associate will manage.

While this role will report directly to the FSI’s Community Business Support Program Manager, there will be significant collaboration with the different members of the FSI team who also support the Program, including FSI’s Executive Director, Youth Program Team, and Communications Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the development, planning, and delivery of existing and new CBS initiatives in collaboration with other FSI team members.
  • Oversee end-to-end program management, execution, and logistics for CBS activities.
  • Design and lead GuideFong walking tours and community outreach sessions to establish rapport with ethnically diverse and grassroots small businesses and source projects for direct business support.
  • Design, develop, and run the “GuideFong Ambassador” program to recruit, train, and manage youth interns and community volunteers, including those coming from underprivileged backgrounds, to support GuideFong businesses and events.
  • Develop and manage Project GuideFong’s social media channels and content calendar; create or commission engaging digital content (e.g., short- and long-form videos, social media posts, business spotlights).
  • Grow FSI’s CBS community, including the GuideFong directory, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data published and shared.
  • Monitor program outputs and outcomes, as well as stakeholder feedback, for impact measurement and reporting through quantitative and qualitative means.
  • Perform other duties related to CBS Programs as requested by the Program Manager.
Preferred Background:
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience required.
  • Experience in project management or event coordination is required.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, community engagement, and relationship-building skills, including professionalism, ease, and confidence in liaising with small business owners, youths, volunteers, and corporate partners.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends/evenings for events.
  • Responsible, proactive, committed, and driven work ethic.
  • Good technology literacy and proficiency in using digital tools (or a willingness to learn how to use digital tools).
  • Skills in social media management, visual design, digital marketing, content creation, photography, and/or video production are preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Cantonese, Urdu, Hindi, or Nepali is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in working with educational institutions and youths is preferred.
Employee Benefits:
  • Salary (HK$23K - HK$27K based on merit and experience) + MPF
  • Up to HK$2K reimbursement under FSI’s annual personal development fund scheme
  • 15 days of annual leave (excluding public holidays)
  • Flexible working hours and arrangements in a hybrid workplace
  • A plethora of opportunities for training and professional development
  • Opportunity to broaden horizon in a multicultural environment

We are hiring a full‑time staff with a contract term of 12 months, with extension subject to funding availability, performance, and assessment. If you have questions, please contact Vivian Seo, Executive Director of FSI.
