Job summary

BAH Partners Limited is seeking a Senior Production Engineer in Hong Kong to join the APAC Sales & Trading technology team. The role focuses on automating production processes, improving release quality and enhancing system reliability across critical trading applications.

You will build Python-based automation tools, design CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with traders and engineers to support front-to-back trading lifecycle, including OMS and post-trade systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Production Engineering, SRE, DevOps or Software Engineering with ownership of production systems.
• Strong Python development skills for reliable automation solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation and automated testing.

We are working with a leading global quantitative trading firm specialising in derivatives, market making and systematic trading. Technology sits at the heart of its business, with engineers working closely alongside traders and quantitative researchers to build and maintain sophisticated trading platforms.

The firm is looking for an experienced Senior Production Engineer to join its APAC Sales & Trading technology team, supporting critical trading applications, order management, connectivity and post-trade systems.

This is an engineering-focused role, not traditional application support. The emphasis is on building automation, improving release quality and strengthening production reliability rather than simply responding to incidents.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop Python-based automation tools to improve production stability, efficiency and system resilience.
• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and rollback processes.
• Build automated integration and regression testing frameworks in collaboration with software engineering teams.
• Improve monitoring, alerting and observability across trading applications and connectivity.
• Investigate complex production issues, identify root causes and engineer long-term solutions.
• Automate pre-market checks, environment configuration, system recovery and reconciliation processes.
• Work closely with trading and technology teams across the front-to-back trading lifecycle, including OMS, market data, execution connectivity and post-trade processing.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in Production Engineering, SRE, DevOps or Software Engineering with significant production ownership.
• Strong Python development skills, with experience building reliable, maintainable automation solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, deployment automation and automated testing.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across applications, Linux/Windows, networking and messaging systems.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, incident management and production reliability.
• Exposure to FIX, OMS, RFQ workflows or post-trade systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Grafana or Elasticsearch is beneficial.

Candidates from outside financial services are welcome, provided they have strong software engineering and production automation experience.
