Job summary

eFinancialCareers in Hong Kong seeks a Product Manager to lead development, regulatory filing, and lifecycle management of asset management products, including HK-domiciled funds, ETPs, private funds, discretionary accounts, and tokenized funds.

You will coordinate with internal teams, manage filings with regulators, monitor market trends, and drive product strategy with a strong focus on risk controls and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager within the Hong Kong asset management industry.
• Deep knowledge of HK asset management ecosystems, regulatory policies and internal controls.
• Strong research, data analysis, and product design/development skills.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg and Wind; experience with financial modeling and product simulation tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English.
• CFA, FRM, CPA, or CAIA preferred; SFC licenses (Type 1, 4, or 9) preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Product Manager is primarily responsible for the development, regulatory filing, and lifecycle management of various types of asset management products under a Hong Kong asset management company, as well as market research and innovative product development. Supported product types include, but are not limited to, Hong Kong-domiciled public funds, ETPs, private funds, discretionary accounts, tokenized funds, as well as UCITS and Cayman funds.

1. Product Development & Regulatory Filing

• Design & Structuring: Formulate product proposals related to the asset management business, deliver comprehensive product designs and implementation plans, and collaborate with internal investment, sales/marketing, compliance, risk management, and operations teams to refine them.
• Project Management: Oversee product development projects. Conduct research, obtain quotes, and maintain relationships with external partners and service providers. Draft and execute service agreements. Manage internal communications and project timelines.
• Regulatory Approval: Prepare comprehensive legal documents required for product filing. Liaise and manage feedback with relevant regulatory authorities to ensure timely product approval and launch.

2. Product Lifecycle Management

• Operational Maintenance: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the company's existing products from launch to termination.
• Compliance & Reporting: Continuously maintain product operations, including information updates, periodic reports, ad-hoc announcements, updates to legal documents, and regulatory filings.
• Liquidation: Handle all statutory procedures when products mature or undergo liquidation.

3. Market Research & Analysis

• Trend Tracking: Monitor global asset management product trends and hot topics. Stay ahead of the development patterns and latest dynamics of the Hong Kong asset management industry.
• Competitive Intelligence: Closely track and analyze regulatory policies, industry updates, potential client demands, and competing market products.
• Product Strategy: Formulate the company's product roadmap, capture industry innovation opportunities, and proactively propose product development ideas and improvement recommendations.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Product Manager within the Hong Kong asset management industry.
• Industry Knowledge: Deeply familiar with the Hong Kong, cross-border, and overseas asset management product ecosystems, as well as relevant regulatory policies and legal requirements. Possess strong risk control and compliance awareness, and familiarity with internal controls throughout the product lifecycle.
• Technical Skills: Strong research capabilities and innovative product design/development skills. Proficient in financial data platforms such as Bloomberg and Wind. Experienced in financial modeling, data analysis, and product simulation tools.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English.
• Certifications (Preferred): Holder of professional financial qualifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, or CAIA is highly preferred.
• Licensing (Preferred): Holder of relevant Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) licenses (e.g., Type 1, 4, or 9 regulated activities) is preferred.
