Job summary

Heptagon Photonics Pte Ltd. is seeking a data-driven professional to own metrology and data analysis for micro-optics production.

You will work with CNC smartscope and profiler tools, develop scripts for profile fitting, and contribute to polymer imprinting and molding at wafer scale. The role requires programming experience (Python/Matlab/Excel macros), familiarity with metrology instruments, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Metrology owner for CNC Smartscope and other profilers; set up recipes, perform inspections, analyze data.
• Develop data/design for 3D micro printing, scripts for profile fitting/analysis tooling, image processing, and large data sets from metrology tools.
• Owner of polymer imprinting/molding for micro printing from lens to wafer level using Two-Photon Polymerization and CNC equipment; handle alignment and dispensing.
• Drive process and material optimization with next-generation stamping/imprinting materials and surface treatments in collaboration with suppliers.

About the role

The team under Corp. Research & Development department, owns the critical mastering step in new WLO product development, including fabrication of 2.5D micro structures on Nanoscribe tool, step & repeat process based on two different equipment to create high quality 8in Masters, surface metrology of master/tooling/replication, failure analysis on wafer/module levels, and reliability tests. This role supports metrology, data analysis, optimization of process and material evaluation for new product and technology development.

Key responsibilities

• Metrology owner of CNC smartscope and other contact/non-contact profilers from Taylor Hobson, or ZYGO, covering recipe setup, inspection execution, and data analysis/modeling for micro-optics products
• Data scientist duties include data/design creation for 3D micro printing, script development/optimization for profile fitting/analysis tooling, image processing, processing large size of data from metrology tools, with working on Python, Matlab, or other programming
• Polymer imprinting/molding owner for micro printing/imprinting from singlet/array lens to wafer level using Two-Photon Polymerization equipment and CNC-based step & repeat equipment, covering duties from recipe setup to execution of alignment/dispensing
• Drive process and material optimization projects, including evaluation of next generation of stamping/imprinting materials, surface treatment and coating for adhesion or antistick enhancement, by collaboration with chemical suppliers

About you

• Familiarity with one of the following: data processing, metrology on precision measuring instruments (Smartscope, contact/non-contact profiler, etc.), injection molding, polymer imprinting, organic chemicals on surface treatment, MEMS process/equipment, or material characterization
• Programming skills strongly preferred as used in data analysis, like image processing, macro of Excel, Matlab, Python, etc., with strong interests on computer and data
• Demonstrated professional proficiency in English (written and verbal), with the capability to author technical reports and presentations
• 1-3 years of work experience preferred; fresh graduates welcome if with strong skills and interests
• Knowledge on polymer and curing, mechanical machining, statistical process control, dispensing, MEMS are strong bonus
• Proactive, analytical, and adaptable, with strong attention to detail, good observation and strong problem-solving and coordination abilities in cross-functional settings
• Mindset of R&D
• Bachelor, Master's or Ph.D in Engineering, Physics, Materials, Optics, or a related field
