Job summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a Platform Ops Lead to own and improve DevOps CI/CD platforms, delivering reliable, scalable services for web and mobile development teams. You will guide engineers, collaborate with vendors, and apply FinOps to optimise costs while ensuring security and compliance across base images, pipelines and container platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years IT experience, including at least 5 years in IT infrastructure roles.
• Experience in complex enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Ability to design solutions and make technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and building relationships at senior levels.
• Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile/Lean methodologies.
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud operations, DevOps, DevSecOps and FinOps.
• Broad exposure to Azure/AWS, container platforms, microservices and IaC.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis with clear communication.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a cross-functional environment and support 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and enhance automation, CI/CD and self-healing hybrid cloud platforms.
• Maintain Observability platform stability and self-service automations.
• Ensure reliable day-to-day operations of DevOps platforms and version control.
• Translate requirements into a Platform Ops service catalogue.
• Govern base images, libraries, pipelines and container platforms for security/quality standards.
• Evaluate and replace obsolete CI/CD toolsets to stay market-aligned.
• Enable secure segregation of duties through access controls across DevOps toolsets.
• Apply FinOps to optimise cloud and DevOps platform costs at scale.
• Lead, mentor and support platform engineers in daily ops and career development.
• Communicate architecture designs, risks and progress with PMs, stakeholders and partners; provide 24/7 availability when required.
