Major Duties

• To perform teaching duties, including supervision of student projects;
• To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
• To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; and
• To participate in departmental projects and functions.

Requirements

• (a) (i) A recognised degree in English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English); OR (ii) A recognised degree in a non-relevant field; AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English‑teaching certification recognised by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration;
• (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching experience; and
• (c) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.

Notes

• (1) Applicant(s) with less experience may be considered for the post of “Part-time (Evening) Assistant Lecturer” at the rank of Teaching Associate.
• (2) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment.
