Job summary

Vocational Training Council (VTC) seeks a Part-time (Daytime) Fieldwork Supervisor in the Department of Childcare, Elderly and Community Services. You will teach social work modules and supervise student projects and fieldwork practicum, while contributing to programme development and assessment.

The role requires a recognised Social Work degree (with postgraduate qualification preferred), current registration, and at least 5 years of post-degree practice.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Social Work or a professional qualification (preferably with a post-graduate qualification).
• Registered under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance Chapter 505 and holding a valid practising certificate.
• At least 5 years full-time post-degree industrial experience in social work practice.
• Good communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese.
• Supervision experience and industry connections would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Teach social work modules and supervise student projects/fieldwork practicum.
• Handle student and academic administration duties.
• Develop programme curriculum and teaching/learning/assessment materials.
• Assist in validation and accreditation of programmes.
• Engage with industry for attachments, projects and events.

Major Duties

• To perform teaching duties in social work modules, including supervision of students projects / fieldwork practicum in social work settings
• To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
• To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials
• To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes and
• To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental / discipline projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements

• A recognised degree in Social Work or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification
• Registered under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance Chapter 505 and holding valid practising certificate
• At least 5 years full-time post-degree industrial experience in social work practice
• Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese and
• Good records of supervision experience in social work settings and connection with the industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.
