Operations Data Analyst (24-month contract)

Department: Airport Service Delivery Department

Role Introduction:

Reports to: Operations Analytics & Insights Manager

Transform operational and customer data into clear insights that help Airport Service Delivery make informed decisions. You will manage dashboards across the function, analyse data alongside the Operations Analytics & Insights Manager and Senior Operations Data Analyst, and work with Airport Service Delivery teams to understand their analytical needs.

Your work will span data collection, analysis, visualisation, maintenance and governance, using tools such as Alteryx, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI and SQL. You will also collaborate with DGT and Information Technology teams to develop a ground movement simulation and optimisation model supporting operational readiness before and after implementation of the full Three-Runway System at Hong Kong International Airport.

By making reliable data accessible and turning analysis into action, you will help strengthen a data-driven culture and contribute to the continued development of Cathay’s airport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain dashboards across Airport Service Delivery, ensuring information is clear and accessible to stakeholders

Analyse operational and customer data with the Operations Analytics & Insights Manager and Senior Operations Data Analyst to derive actionable insights

Partner with Airport Service Delivery teams to understand data requirements and contribute to analytical models and tools

Collaborate with Digital teams and Information Technology teams to develop a ground movement simulation and optimisation model for operational readiness before and after full implementation of the Three-Runway System at Hong Kong International Airport

Promote greater use of data and analytics across Airport Service Delivery teams.

Support data quality, accessibility and governance, together with the effective operation of analytics systems and capabilities

Monitor developments in analytics tools and identify relevant opportunities for their application within Airport Service Delivery

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in data and analytics

University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, Operations Research or related disciplines

Excellent analytical, planning, problem solving and organising skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks within defined time constraints

Technical experience with leading mining tool sets such as Alteryx, QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI and SQLs and advance knowledge in data management

Experience and understand of system and process in the airline industry or airport operations would be an advantage

Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Able to interact with people at all levels and from diverse cultural backgrounds

Curious, empathetic, open-minded, self-motivated, resourceful and strong continuous improvement mindset

Independent and detail oriented

Strong command of both spoken and written English with fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua a plus
