Job summary

Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund in Hong Kong to hire a Trade Operations Associate. This role offers broad coverage across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX, with close interaction with Portfolio Managers and Traders.

Based in Hong Kong, you will manage end-to-end trade lifecycle events, support settlements and reconciliations, and work with prime brokers and risk teams to maintain strong controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Trade Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support, Product Control, or Operations within hedge funds or related environments.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle events across asset classes.
• Familiarity with trade allocation, settlement, reconciliation, and corporate actions processes.
• Experience with trading and operations platforms such as OSTTRA, Trax, Orchestrade, Geneva, Bloomberg or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle events across multiple asset classes including equities, listed derivatives, OTC derivatives, fixed income, and FX.
• Support trade bookings, allocations, settlements, reconciliations, and life-cycle event processing.
• Coordinate with portfolio managers, traders, counterparties, administrators, and prime brokers to resolve trade and operational issues.
• Monitor and process corporate actions across equity and fixed income products.
• Investigate and resolve breaks, discrepancies, and settlement issues.
• Partner with Risk, Technology, Fund Accounting, and Control teams to ensure operational accuracy.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives and contribute to enhanced workflows and controls.
• Support daily operational deliverables with a strong control environment.

Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund to hire a Trade Operations Associate for its Hong Kong office.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded investment platform with exposure across equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, and other asset classes. The role offers broad trade lifecycle coverage and close interaction with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Prime Brokers, Fund Accounting, Technology, and Risk teams in a fast-paced hedge fund environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle events across multiple asset classes including equities, listed derivatives, OTC derivatives, fixed income, and FX
• Support trade bookings, allocations, settlements, reconciliations, and life-cycle event processing
• Coordinate with portfolio managers, traders, counterparties, administrators, and prime brokers to resolve trade and operational issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience within Trade Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support, Product Control, or Operations functions gained within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, or prime brokerage environment
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle events across multiple asset classes
• Exposure to OTC derivatives, rates products, swaps, futures, fixed income products, or FX is advantageous
• Familiarity with trade allocation, settlement, reconciliation, and corporate actions processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Experience with trading and operations platforms such as OSTTRA, Trax, Orchestrade, Geneva, Bloomberg, or similar systems is beneficial
• Ability to interact confidently with both investment and operational stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
