Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Resident Safety Officer (Construction) for the HKUST site in Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong. The role focuses on on-site safety supervision, incident investigation, and enforcing safety measures across construction activities.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in construction safety, relevant Safety Officer certification, and fluency in English and Chinese. The job requires weekend duty with compensatory time off and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Registered as Safety Officer and Safety Auditor under Labour Department.
• Minimum 10 years’ solid construction site experience.
• Hospital project, or client-side or client facing project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Need to be on duty on Saturday and Sunday with time off compensation as assigned.

Responsibilities

• On-site reporting to Client and Contract Administrator.
• Carry out routine site safety supervision for building construction.
• Identify unsafe acts and physical conditions and ensure corrective action.
• Ensure contractor site safety precautionary measures implementation.
• Investigate and record all near-misses, incidents and accidents and prepare reports.
• Ensure site compliance with health and safety legislation and contract requirements.
• Carry out ad-hoc inspections and attend meetings.
